Good Food Month

October is Good Food Month in the Blue Mountains and you won’t want to miss what’s on offer. Venues will be plating up unique food experiences throughout October, with an emphasis on local produce, paired with NSW regional wine and beer.
Part of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Month, there are opportunities for locals and visitors to experience our regional food and vibrant culinary scene.
Dryridge Estate in the Megalong Valley, in collaboration with Chef Misha Laurent of 8 Things Restaurant, Katoomba, will be hosting a Spring Long Lunch on October 14. With four courses of local seasonal food, matching Dryridge wines, music, views to die for, you can’t afford to miss this very special event. Buses have been organized from Katoomba and Blackheath to Megalong Valley, returning after lunch.

Palette Dining in Katoomba is doing something totally different. Palette Diner will be launched on Saturday September 30 in association with The Lost World DJ’s and continue throughout October. Palette Diner offers lots of great music and American Diner style-classics, think burgers, fried chicken, smoked ribs and more. Craft beer, American whisky, Tiki and tequila style mixed drinks. What fun!

Jamison View Restaurant at Mountain Heritage Hotel is offering a special two-course set menu as well as its regular menu. The special two-course menu will be an entrée of wild caught Australian calamari with a touch of garlic, lightly flavoured and flash fried and a main of slow roasted lamb rack with potato puree, baked carrot, baby spinach, cumin lamb jus. This offer will be for Saturday nights during October. A chance to enjoy dining in this first class restaurant with a view of the magnificent Jamison Valley. Don’t miss it!
