Description

Qualified, passionate and knowledgeable guides, quality gear and a focus on safety underpin these adventures, with each activity packed with thrills without the time pressures, plus the guides are keen to share plenty of interesting information about the unique natural environment and the rich cultural heritage of the Blue Mountains.

ABSEILING – Also known as rappelling in North America and much of Europe, abseiling is commonly practised the world over as a method of descending a rope in a safe and controlled manner. It’s a fun and safe activity when conducted with experienced professionals. In the Blue Mountains, with an abundance of spectacular cliff lines offering expansive vistas, abseiling is quite simply, an amazing adventure for the young and young-at-heart.

CANYONING – The Blue Mountains has the world’s greatest concentration of vegetated slot canyons. Carved over millions of years by the relentless action of running water, these geological treasures are full of rainforest plant species and are often lined with ferns and thick moss, which are some of the oldest plant species on earth.  Exploring these canyons offers the perfect adventure as it often involves a variety of activities including swimming, wading, jumping into deep pools (‘water-jumps’), abseiling through waterfalls, bushwalking and scrambling over rocks and boulders. The grandeur and pristine beauty of the canyons almost defies description. Canyoning is the ultimate Blue Mountains adventure!

CLIMBING – Rock climbing is about balance, concentration and self-confidence. Age and fitness are no barrier. It is about controlled moves, planned in advance and purposefully applied. Blue Mountains Adventure Company offers a variety of rock-climbing adventures to suit all levels of experience, from the novice to those with extensive climbing experience.

HIKING – Walking in the Blue Mountains is one of the best ways for the magic of this ancient World Heritage Area to reveal itself. There is no shortage of walks in the Blue Mountains, which means there is a walk for everyone. Bring the kids, tackle a tougher overnight walk or enjoy a more moderately paced hike over a half or full day. Walking in the Blue Mountains is a very special experience. As you wander past spectacular lookouts to enjoy breathtaking panoramas, hike past astounding landforms, encounter historical sites and unique wildlife and interesting vegetation, you’ll soon understand why a walk in the Blue Mountains is a must-do activity.

E-BIKES - Explore more than just the usual popular tourist sites with the battery powered assistance of an eBike, taking you to some of the best local lookouts, for spectacular views of the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains. If you can ride a bike, then a self-guided cycling tour is one of the best ways to see the sights of the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains. Be amazed at how easy eBikes make exploring the Blue Mountains as you cruise up the hills and go further than you imagined.

Adventures are all-inclusive, with professional guides, licenses and National Park visitor fees, all safety and activity-related equipment, and everything else you need for an action-packed adventure. Plus a delicious lunch from a local delicatessen is provided on full-day trips. All you have to bring is suitable personal clothing, footwear, a water bottle and a camera to capture the day.
