Blue Mountains Tourism acknowledges that the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area is located within the Ngurra (Country) of the Darkinjung, Darug, Dharawal, Gundungurra, Wanaruah and Wiradjuri peoples.

Blue Mountains Tourism respects the deep and unbroken connection that Aboriginal people hold with their Ngurra.

For Aboriginal people, Ngurra takes in everything within the physical, cultural and spiritual landscape — landforms, waterways, air, trees, rocks, plants, animals, food, medicine, minerals, stories and special places and includes cultural practice, kinship, knowledge, songs, stories and art, as well as spiritual beings and people past, present and future.
