The Glow Worm Tunnel Marathon is a trail runnning festival that occures in the middle of June each year in the amazing Wolgan Valley just 30 mins from Lithgow.

The event includes a Marathon, Half Marathon, 6km fun run, Mystery Mountain Vertical Race and a Kids run. The event runs over Saturday and Sunday and also includes, food, a short film festival, live band and some amazing running.

The course takes runners on an amazing journey along a course that takes in the best sights of Newnes and the Wolgan Valley.

Runners will encounter creek crossings, sections of long single trail, old mine cuttings, old ruins and some long forgotten railway easements. The terrain is exciting, challenging and you may find it hard to keep the smile from your face.

The races of course take you through the amazing 400m long Glow Worm Tunnel which is full of these amazing creatures that make the tunnel roof look like the night sky.

The event starts and finishes in Newnes and from the moment you arrive in “town” you will revel in the serene surroundings.
