Established in 1869, come and enjoy a relaxing ride behind the romantic, nostalgic, impressive steam locomotive as it hauls you over the Great Lithgow Zig Zag.

Zig Zag Railway offers visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience the thrill of traveling by rail as it was done in the past. We run three services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday fortnightly, see our tickets page for dates.

Our café is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday offering tasty snacks, hot and cold drinks and light meals. Our beautifully restored dining cars are available for dining whenever the café is open.
